Maasai-owned, locally rooted
We're a Maasai-owned operator. Every guide is local. Every porter is paid KPAP-certified fair wages. Profits stay in Tanzania — funding schools, conservation, and the community we come from. When you travel with us, you're not just visiting Tanzania; you're investing in the people who call it home.
We work with the Kilimanjaro Porter Assistance Project on porter welfare. We partner with local schools, funding new classrooms each year. Our vehicles are maintained locally; our food sourced from regional farms. Every safari you book helps strengthen this network of local impact.
Honest reviews from the trail
Our guides made the impossible feel achievable. Pole pole was real — we made it to Uhuru Peak on day 6. Stella Point at sunrise is something I'll never forget.

Three days of game drives with Maasai Travels and we saw the Big Five plus the great migration crossing. Our guide knew exactly where the predators would be.
Being hosted by a Maasai-owned company changed everything. The cultural visit to the village wasn't a tourist show — it was an honest exchange.

Quick answers
When is the best time to visit Tanzania?
The dry season from June to October is ideal for game viewing — wildlife concentrates around water sources and grasses are short. January and February offer the calving season in the southern Serengeti, where you can witness predator action. The shoulder seasons (March and November) bring lower prices and fewer crowds, with green landscapes after the rains.
How much should I budget for a Tanzania safari?
Budget safaris start from around €1,000 per person for shorter camping-based itineraries. Mid-range lodge safaris typically run €1,500–€3,000 per person, including park fees, transport, guide, and accommodation. Luxury safaris range from €3,500 to €7,000+ per person and include premium tented camps and lodges. Flights are usually separate.
Do I need vaccinations or a visa?
A yellow fever vaccination certificate is required if you're transiting through a yellow fever country. Hepatitis A and Typhoid are recommended; malaria prophylaxis is advised. Most nationalities (US, UK, EU) can apply for a Tanzania e-visa online before travel — please check current requirements before booking.
Is Tanzania safe for solo travelers and women?
Yes — Tanzania is widely considered one of East Africa's safest destinations for tourists. We host many solo travelers each year, including solo women. Our guides are vetted, our vehicles tracked, and we offer female guides on request. You're rarely alone on tour — most travel happens in small group convoys with the team.
